Publishing in predatory journals has been the hot topic during numerous formal and informal discussions between academics in recent months since Malaysia was ranked 5th globally for fraudulent publications. This issue is of concern as this will affect the image of our local researchers and perhaps could dampen the spirit of those hard-working scientists implicated by such accusation. In this month's coffee talk program, our speaker will discuss the issues behind predatory publishing and its implication in pharmaceutical research.
Prof Dr. Mohd Cairul Iqbal Mohd Amin is a Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He has served as the Deputy Director General of Higher Education at the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) from 2019 to 2021. He will share his vast experience in research and publication in the arena of higher education and his view on predatory publishing in the upcoming MSPT coffee talk, scheduled as follows:
